Slum Rehabilitation

Microhousing, Infrastructure and Rehabilitation

Slums have constituted an integral part of mumbai's cityspace for several decades. slum-dwellers stay in shanty structures an in unhygienic environment, not by choice but by compelling circumstances as they were thrown out of the formal housing sector, the latter being affordable and much beyond their income levels.

It is imperative to enchance their standard of living and for which an authorized dwelling unit is a first step in the right direction. this, in turn, will bring abour a marked improvement in their hygiene and health as well as raise the level of public hygiene which has fallen to very low ebb.

Slum rehabilitation projects involve people who have lived in the Mumbai slums for more than 10 years. The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) regulates Mumbai slum rehabilitation and is responsible for laying out the eligibility criteria for slum development projects since 1995.

MHIPL is working with a different approach of slum rehabilitation. As socially responsible organisation, we don’t just provide homes instead we are creating a civilization where slum dwellers will own homes and have access to basic amenities like world class schools, hospitals and other basic infrastructure which will help us create a self sustainable civilization.
